Electrical Union Apprenticeship Information

The Daytona Beach Electrical JATC Union Apprenticeship Program is now doing business as:
The Don Morgan Electrical Academy.

We Produce Competent Craftsman!

The Don Morgan Electrical Academy aims to increase the quality of the Electrical Union field in America by allowing motivated persons to acquire a trade while working under the supervision of a qualified craftsman and attending associated classroom courses.

Apprentices get competitive pay, benefits, cutting-edge training, college credits (via DSC and the upcoming Advanced Technology Center), and prospects for development.

Consider apprenticeship training if you appreciate working with your hands in a variety of situations and are seeking for an alternative to a four-year degree.

Apprenticeship programmes combine paid job experience with associated educational training to provide the best of both worlds.

This apprenticeship will prepare you to become a proficient electrician by providing you with the required information and skills to seek a journeyman electrician profession.

Minimum Entrance Requirements:

– Age 18
– High School Graduate or GED
– One credit of high school Algebra
– Valid Florida Driver’s License
– Pass Validated Aptitude Test
– Pass Substance Abuse Test

The Electrical Union Apprenticeship provides you with the opportunity to train as a journeyman electrician and expand your skills in preparation for a high-paying job in construction, estimating, electronics, or electrical management.

General foremen, project managers, estimators, safety specialists, training directors, and instructors are all common jobs for graduates. On-the-job training does not provide you with the academic information needed to grasp electrical construction theory and all other electrical aspects.

Formal training does. Apprentices get a minimum of 8,000 on-the-job training hours while receiving their certificate, in addition to 198 classroom/lab hours every year.

You will get credentials from DSC and the Florida Department of Education upon graduation, and you will be eligible to take the Journeyman Electrician State Licensing Board Examination.

The electrical Union Apprenticeship programme exemplifies how providing high-quality training and skill development opportunities may lead to limitless progression options for graduates.

Graduates have worked for the school board, municipal and council electrical departments, and electrical construction companies such as Giles Electric, Masters Electric, and Electric Solutions Unlimited in the surrounding area.

Depending on their degree, job, and experience, graduates can earn more than $40,000 per year. Those who finish the programme successfully may choose to continue their study by using a part of their hours toward an associate of applied science in Industrial Management Technology.

In most situations, you’ll need a lot of money and time to be ready for your profession, but in a licenced apprenticeship programme, you’ll be paid a steadily higher rate as you master the trade.

The Electrical Union Apprenticeship programme combines academic preparation with hands-on experience.

While hands-on training is provided at the Advanced Technology Center (ATC), a modern, state-of-the-art facility, this programme also provides knowledge and skills training in all phases of electrical installation, safety, and electrical construction work in the residential, commercial, and industrial markets.

Graduates receive a vocational certificate of completion from Daytona State College (DSC), and a certificate of apprenticeship from the Florida Department of Education. Apprentices benefit from classroom and hands-on instruction to become trained professionals with competitive earnings and benefits, while the electrical sector receives a larger pool of competent labour.

Consider an Electrical Union Apprenticeship if you are mechanically inclined, love working with your hands, prefer hands-on learning to lecture, and want to get paid while learning.
